At Younger Insurance Agency, we’re building something bigger than just an insurance book. We’ve been voted Best of the Best in the Tristate, and we’re just getting started. Our commercial department is expanding, and we’re looking for a sharp, motivated Commercial Lines Producer who wants to be part of that momentum. We are looking for someone that is actively licensed, and is comfortable developing their own leads and effectively working through provided leads from active referral partners.

This role comes with competitive commissions on both new and renewal business, a strong base/guarantee to get off the ground and running, and a clear path to build a strong, stable book. We believe in rewarding producers who do the work, care about clients, and contribute to the bigger picture.

We’re based in Hagerstown, MD, and while we’re rooted in the local community, we offer hybrid remote flexibility for this role. As a Producer your job will take you around the area, while giving you the comfort of having an office near by.

As a Producer, your focus will be on Commercial Property & Casualty, though you’ll also have the opportunity to write personal lines as needed.

Your job is to help business owners protect what they’ve built—by listening well, asking smart questions, and guiding them to coverage that fits.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience & Qualifications

  • A college degree is not required. We care more about your mindset and experience than your diploma.
  • 3+ years of insurance sales experience is ideal, especially in commercial lines production (sales). A proven track record of hitting goals and serving clients well is key.
  • You’re comfortable prospecting and working independently while still being part of a tight-knit team.
  • You’re familiar with the sales process, understand how to navigate carrier systems, and are confident presenting coverage options to clients.
Responsibilities

This role is more than just selling policies. It’s about listening, solving problems, and helping business owners protect what matters most.

Here’s what that looks like day-to-day:

Core Responsibilities

  • Understand each client’s risk profile. Schedule discovery calls, review current coverage, and dig into exposures using applications, financial docs, and carrier tools to uncover gaps and tailor specific solutions.
  • Build strategic insurance options. Quote and propose coverages based on what’s best for the client.
  • Find and develop new business. Identify ideal prospects, open the right doors, and bring in commercial accounts that align with our Agency’s core values.
  • Retain and grow your book. Proactively manage renewals (with support from Account Manager), evaluate exposure changes, and identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell when it adds value.
  • Market to the right carriers. Prepare complete submissions, negotiate rates and terms (when applicable), and recommend the best-fit options to your clients—not just the cheapest ones.
  • Deliver a strong service experience. Be responsive and clear. Whether it’s quoting, remarketing, or answering coverage questions—own the communication and keep clients in the loop.
  • Be a market expert. Stay current on underwriting appetites, carrier trends, and alternative markets. Build relationships with underwriters so your submissions rise to the top.
  • Document everything. Use our CRM consistently to record client interactions, decisions, and policy actions to keep our processes clean and compliant.
  • Live our core values. Uphold the Agency’s core principles in how you sell, serve, and show up.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to share insights about markets, client trends, or service concerns.
  • Support existing clients with policy changes, endorsements, audits, and claims questions.
  • Follow through on Agency procedures for renewals, policy updates, and compliance tasks.
  • Jump in when needed to help the team deliver a great client experience.
