Job Overview

YMI Insurance is seeking a dynamic and growth-minded individual to join our team as a Marketing & Sales Development Associate. This is a unique dual-role position designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in combining creativity with career growth in the insurance industry.

In this role, you’ll spend approximately 50% of your time managing digital marketing efforts and podcast coordination, and 50% actively learning the fundamentals of commercial insurance and sales. Over time, the position evolves into a full-time commercial insurance producer role—complete with training, mentorship, and licensure support.

Career Path Overview

Phase 1 – Marketing & Sales Foundation (Year 1)

  • Lead YMI's digital presence and content development
  • Coordinate production of the YMI Talking podcast, which features prominent Lehigh Valley business leaders
  • Begin training in insurance concepts, client service, and commercial risk management
  • Shadow experienced agents and participate in team sales activities

Phase 2 – Producer Development (Year 2 and Beyond)

  • Earn your insurance license with agency support
  • Build and manage your own book of business in commercial insurance
  • Transition fully into a client-facing sales and advisory role
  • Continue contributing to marketing strategy as a thought leader within the agency

Salary Range: $40,000.00 per year

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing one) in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills—you’ll be working directly with business professionals and representing our brand
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management
  • A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities
  • Interest in both digital marketing and a long-term career in insurance sales


Bonus Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Buffer, Later)
  • Experience with Canva, podcast production tools, or CRM/email systems
  • Exposure to Google Analytics or paid advertising platforms
  • Ties to or interest in the Lehigh Valley business community
Responsibilities

Marketing & Content Coordination (50%)

  • Manage and grow YMI's social media channels with original, community-driven content
  • Coordinate all logistics for the YMI Talking podcast:
  • Set up and prep the podcast room
  • Communicate with guests and manage scheduling
  • Take episode notes and manage timely content delivery to our editor
  • Maintain post-episode follow-up with featured guests
  • Support content creation for campaigns, blog posts, email newsletters, and events
  • Assist in tracking performance and engagement using tools like Google Analytics (training available)


Sales Training & Insurance Development (50%)

  • Learn core concepts in personal and commercial insurance
  • Participate in internal training sessions and mentorship meetings
  • Shadow producers during client meetings and sales presentations
  • Begin contributing to pipeline building and prospect research
  • Prepare to pursue your insurance producer license (PA) with full support
