William Tuttle Agency

Licensed Insurance Sales Producer | Leads Provided & Renewals Provided | Owatonna, MN

Job Overview

The William Tuttle Agency is a Farmers Premier Agency based in Owatonna, MN, serving Minnesota and Wisconsin. We were the first agency in the southern Minnesota district to break $100,000 in production in a single month. We recently completed a 1,300-client book acquisition, and we are not slowing down. We are hiring an experienced, licensed insurance producer to write new business off a steady flow of warm, agency-provided leads.

This is a role for someone who already knows the craft. You have a P&C license, you have written policies before, and you know what it feels like to close on the first call. You are looking for an agency that gives you the leads, the systems, and the coaching to actually hit the numbers you know you are capable of — without dragging in friends and family or buying your own leads on the side.

Here is what makes this different from every other producer seat you've looked at:

Real warm leads. Inbound calls, digital leads, X-dates, recycled leads, and cross-sell opportunities from a freshly acquired book of business. You will not cold call.

A real methodology. We run the Insurance Sales Lab (ISL) One-Call Close Bootcamp. Six-step process, scripted objection handling, structured rebuttals. If you have ever wanted a real playbook instead of "good luck, here's the dialer," this is it.

Real coaching. Every call is reviewed against a 15-point Client Experience Checklist. We use a proprietary call scoring tool to give you specific, actionable feedback every week. You will get better here — measurably.

Real compensation. Base salary, uncapped commission on every policy you write, renewal (residual) commissions that compound year over year, and performance bonuses tied to production milestones.

If you are tired of writing two policies a week and want to write ten, keep reading.

OUR CULTURE

We are a competitive, winning culture where the standard is results and the environment is one where people genuinely want each other to succeed. We hold each other accountable, we celebrate big closes loudly, and we invest in our people.

We are a growth-obsessed team. Every morning starts with a huddle: numbers from yesterday, goals for today, and personal development. We watch self-improvement content together, sharpen our mindset, and get locked in before the first dial. If you are growing as a person, you are growing as a producer.

We are not a passive, maintenance-based agency. We move fast, we coach hard, and we reward people who show up ready to work.

CAREER GROWTH

This is a producer seat, not a ceiling. The path here is real and documented:

Producer → Senior Producer → Sales Manager → Agency Owner (via Farmers Protégé Program)

Top performers move into Senior Producer and team lead roles with override commission on team production

Access to the Farmers Protégé Program, a structured pathway to owning your own Farmers Insurance agency with company-funded support

Ongoing licensing support: we cover the cost to add Life, Health, and additional state licenses

Weekly 1:1 coaching and quarterly performance reviews built into your role

Advancement isn't a maybe here. It's the plan.

COMPENSATION

We pay producers like producers. The structure rewards activity, conversion, and retention — not just showing up.

Competitive base salary so you have stability while you ramp and build

Uncapped commission on every new policy you write — auto, home, renters, umbrella, life, commercial

Renewal (residual) commissions that compound as your book grows

Performance bonuses for hitting monthly production milestones (we run team-wide sales challenges with real money on the line)

Flexible compensation plans — we offer multiple structures so you can lean more base or more commission depending on your stage. We'll walk you through the options in the interview.

Realistic OTE for a producer who works the process: $65,000 – $120,000+ in year one. Top producers on our team write significantly above that. There is no cap.

The producers who win here are the ones who run the ISL six-step process every single call, hit their daily dial and quote activity, and stay coachable. If that is you, the income takes care of itself.

BENEFITS

Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission and renewals

Performance bonuses tied to monthly production milestones

All warm leads provided — no cold calling, no buying your own leads

100% of additional licensing costs covered (Life, Health, additional states)

Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing ISL coaching

Proprietary call coaching tools and weekly call reviews

Fully in-office at our Owatonna location, with hybrid flexibility for proven producers

Paid Audible subscription

Personal development culture built into every morning

Backing of Farmers Insurance, one of the largest and most recognized carriers in the country

Clear, structured path to Senior Producer, Sales Manager, and ultimately your own agency

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I really not have to cold call or buy my own leads?

Correct. We provide all the leads — inbound calls, digital leads, X-dates, recycled leads, and cross-sell opportunities from our existing 5,000+ client book including the recently acquired Bishman book. You work the leads, you write the policies. You will not be asked to prospect your personal network.

What does the lead flow actually look like?

You will have warm leads in your queue every single day. We have a full SDR/dialer operation feeding the producer team, plus inbound calls from web, referral, and cross-sell. Volume is not the problem here — conversion is the game.

Do I need a P&C license to apply?

Yes. This is a licensed producer role. If you are currently studying or expect to be licensed within 30 days of starting, we will still talk. If you are completely unlicensed and looking to get started, we have a separate entry-level sales associate role — apply for that one instead.

What's the compensation really like?

Base salary plus uncapped commission on every policy you write, plus renewal commissions that compound, plus performance bonuses. Producers who run our process consistently land in the $60K–$120K+ OTE range in year one. Our top producers are well above that. We will walk through specific numbers and structure options in the interview.

Is this remote?

Yes — for producers who can sustain it. New hires start in-office at our Owatonna location so we can ramp you on ISL, coach you in real time, and make sure your numbers are where they need to be. Once you are consistently hitting production standards and running the process cleanly, hybrid and fully remote arrangements are on the table. Remote is earned, not given — and it stays as long as the numbers stay.

What is ISL?

The Insurance Sales Lab One-Call Close Bootcamp. It is the methodology we run our entire sales operation on — a six-step structured process for taking a lead from first call to bound policy in one conversation. You'll be trained on it, coached against it, and scored on it. It works.

What does a typical day look like?

Morning huddle and personal development. Then you are on the phones running ISL — quoting, multi-lining, closing, and onboarding. Mid-day check-ins with your sales manager, a call review or two during the week, and follow-up on your quoted-not-sold pipeline. Pace is fast. Coaching is constant. Wins are celebrated.

How do I grow from here?

Senior Producer, Sales Manager, then the Farmers Protégé Program if agency ownership is your goal. We have a documented path and we have moved people through it.

Salary Range: $62,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

This is a licensed producer role. Mindset matters, but so does the resume.

Required:

Active Minnesota P&C license (or willing to be licensed in MN within 30 days of start — Wisconsin a plus)

1+ year of insurance sales experience writing P&C policies, OR 2+ years of phone-based sales with demonstrated closing ability

Comfortable with high call volume and high quote volume — this is a phone-first role

Proficient with a CRM and dialer (we use AgencyZoom and Ricochet360 — we'll train you on our stack)

Coachable. We review calls, we give direct feedback, and we expect you to apply it the next day

The producers who thrive here are:

Coachable — they take feedback, apply it, and ask for more

Competitive — they keep score and they want to win the leaderboard

Disciplined — they hit their activity numbers whether they feel like it or not

Strong communicators — they build rapport fast and run a tight close

Process-oriented — they trust the system, run the script, and don't freelance

Nice to have:

Life and Health licenses (we will pay to add these)

Experience with Farmers products

Experience with ISL or another structured sales methodology

Bilingual (Spanish a plus given our service area)

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Work agency-provided warm leads: inbound calls, digital leads, X-dates, recycled leads, and cross-sell opportunities from our existing and newly acquired book

Run the ISL One-Call Close process on every quote: Hook → Build Value → Multi-Line → Present Cost → Ask for the Sale → Wrap-Up & Onboarding

Quote and bind P&C policies (auto, home, renters, umbrella) and refer/cross-sell into life, commercial, and health where appropriate

Hit daily activity standards: dials, quotes, bound policies

Multi-line every household — we expect bundles, not monoline sales

Manage your pipeline in AgencyZoom with clean, accurate documentation

Run our structured follow-up cadences on quoted-not-sold leads (10-call / 10-day new lead cadence, 6-call X-date cadence)

Participate in daily team huddles, weekly 1:1 coaching, and call reviews against our 15-point Client Experience Checklist

Ask every closed client for a Google review and a referral — this is non-negotiable in our process

Onboard new clients properly: review coverages, schedule home inspections, identify cross-sell opportunities, set the renewal up for retention.
