Claims Consultant - Commercial Insurance
Job Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Insurance Claims Consultant in our San Francisco Office. Under limited supervision, the Claims Consultant will provide day-to-day servicing of claims on behalf of all property and casualty clients. The Claims Consultant will function in support of the Account Managers and Producers. This position requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Commercial Insurance Claims process as well as reviewing policy language and contracts.
The ideal candidate will reside near one of our offices (San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, or Seattle) but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Requirements
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree (associate degree and significant industry experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree)
- Minimum of 3 years of multi-line commercial claims experience and preferably a background in adjusting claims.
- Proficient at resolving complex insurance coverage issues and have a strong knowledge of commercial lines coverage specifically Property, General Liability, and Professional Liability.
- ·Knowledge of standard claim processing procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, detail oriented with strong follow-up skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- CA Property and Casualty broker license or obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit or stand at a desk. Must be able to physically operate desktop computers, multiple monitors, proprietary software, phones, and common office equipment. Occasional bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 10 lb.) is required. The ability to effectively listen, and understand, and communicate by telephone and in person is important to fulfilling the essential functions of the job.
Work Environment
This position is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in one of our offices and 2 days remote for those candidates in the geographical vicinity of a Symphony office. Occasionally working after hours may be required in order to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position. The work environment involves the use of typical office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, etc. in a controlled climate.
Travel Requirements
Limited travel is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Receive claims from clients and report to appropriate insurers. Proactively manage open claims communicating with insurers.
- Advocate, consult and provide coverage advice to clients as appropriate. Serve as client advocate throughout the entire claims process and challenge adjusters as warranted while advocating the best possible outcome.
- Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients regarding status of claims and participate in meetings and conference calls when appropriate. Prepare regularly scheduled claim reports for clients and participate in presentations reviewing claim reports.
- Review Client’s policies for coverage applicable to loss and communicate with Insurer, Client and Producer to achieve most favorable result for Client. Provide counsel to Client on settlement or authority requests.
- Prepare and review large loss reports with Account Managers and Sales Executives updating them as to the current status of these claims.
- Perform required file maintenance and maintain suspense systems. Maintain claims contact list and on-line claims reporting list.
- Attend claim workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Participate in prospect meetings and renewal meetings.
