Customer Service Representative / Account Manager – In-Office Role

We're hiring a Customer Service Representative/Account Manager to be the face of Spokane Valley Insurance—a people-focused, independent agency built on long-lasting client relationships and compassionate service.







Note: This is a full-time, in-office position. While other team members work from different locations, this role is based in our physical office and requires someone who enjoys being the go-to person on-site.

This role combines front desk reception, account servicing, and policy processing in a high-volume insurance agency. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients—answering phones, handling walk-ins, managing paperwork, and supporting day-to-day operations. You must be highly organized, self-sufficient, and thrive working independently in a busy office environment.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Requirements



  • Must work in-office—this is not a work-from-home position
  • 6+ months of experience in customer service, front desk, or retail preferred
  • Experience handling cash or checks
  • Strong documentation and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage your own workload without micromanagement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Completion of a 40-hour Property & Casualty licensing course and passing the state exam prior to start (we reimburse up to $320 total after passing)
  • Completion of agency system and carrier training upon hire
  • Positive attitude, sense of humor, and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • A thick skin—no one’s going to laugh at you, but you should be able to laugh at yourself
Responsibilities



Front Desk Duties:

  • Greet walk-ins, carrier reps, and clients with professionalism and warmth
  • Process in-person, phone, and mailed payments (cash, checks, credit cards)
  • Scan and upload all incoming mail and emails to the appropriate client records
  • Shred scanned documents daily in compliance with WA OIC privacy standards
  • Mail documents on behalf of off-site staff or clients as needed
  • Tidy and restock office supplies during downtime


Account Manager Duties:

  • Handle policy change requests and servicing tasks for walk-ins and callers
  • Review renewals for premium changes; assess need for re-shops based on changes
  • Follow up on quotes and assist with writing new policies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in our agency management system
  • Provide timely, documented responses to all client communications
  • Complete training on our internal systems and carrier platforms (provided upon hire)

  • Communicate clearly and ask for support when needed—we're a team
  • Practice transparency with clients and colleagues 
  • Use agency workflows and resources to complete tasks efficiently
