Protégé Agents have an opportunity to, learn, and gain confidence and experience from a seasoned mentor agent. This is midlevel entry point position that gives a candidate the opportunity to job shadow, train, market and sell insurance products, all while receiving professional development and coaching to support the opening of your very own Farmers Agency over the course of a year.

Description

The ideal candidate will undergo training and development within the University of Farmers curriculum, as well as specific training within their mentoring agents' office and local District 44 Office. Training is designed to master the skills needed for successful sales management and business development and includes training in areas of recruiting, sales and marketing management, business development and plan execution.

This position will work closely with their mentor Agent as well as our District team to achieve the goals laid out. Protégé Agents will be required to become insurance licensed, participate in new agent training and development, market and sell insurance products as well as numerous other duties as directed.

Successful completion of the program will earn you the opportunity to open your own Farmers Insurance Agency and have the right to waive capital requirements that a new agent must typically show. Upon completion of the program, you will be awarded with a $4,000 bonus and access to additional support to assist the opening of your own storefront. 

This job offers a roadmap for a successful candidate to open their own agency with Farmers Insurance Group. The position will receive a salary plus bonus opportunity based upon experience. You will be an employee of one of our Exclusive Agency Owners while participating in the Agency Protégé program.

Requirements
  • Sales and Marketing and/ or Insurance background (not required, but preferred)
  • Insurance Licenses (not required to be considered)
  • Professional demeanor and a strong self-starter with an eagerness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Proficient in social media applications, Microsoft Software applications as well as other technology and tools crucial to the job functionality, experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a background check (further detail can be provided upon request of what we are looking for)
Responsibilities
  • Obtain State of Texas Property & Casualty license (must be obtained prior to hire)
  • Obtain State of Texas Life & Health licenses (within the first 90 Days of hire)
  • Provide excellent customer service to policyholders
  • Educate policy holders on their insurance plan
  • Solicit and market to new prospects to sell our products and services
  • Assist in community efforts and activities, including working with local chambers of commerce and other area businesses and organizations whom which we partner with
