Are you looking to break into real estate or property management but don't have experience yet? This is a great place to start.

We're hiring a dependable and motivated Field Operations Assistant to support our growing property management operations in the Birmingham area. This is an entry-level, contract-to-hire position designed for someone who is eager to learn and ready to gain hands-on experience in residential real estate.

Because we don't have a local office in Birmingham, this role is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently, manage their own schedule, and stay organized in the field.

You'll be the eyes and ears on the ground, communicating remotely with our team in Dallas and Houston while handling property inspections, rental readiness checks, basic field support, and light administrative tasks.

No prior real estate experience is required — we will train the right person.

This role begins as a contracted position with a 90–180 day probationary period. Candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and initiative may be offered a full-time position.

Salary Range: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license, with the ability to travel between properties throughout the Birmingham area (mileage reimbursement provided)


  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to plan and execute daily routes independently


  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using smartphones, mobile apps, and online tools for reporting and communication


  • Self-motivated and accountable, with the discipline to work effectively without direct on-site supervision


  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inspections, photos, and reports


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for staying connected with the remote team


  • No prior property management or office experience required — we value attitude, reliability, and drive over experience


  • Availability for 20–40 hours per week preferred, with some flexibility based on performance and schedule


  • Able to perform light physical activity, such as lifting signs, cleaning supplies, and minor equipment
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities


  • Visit rental properties throughout the Birmingham area to ensure homes are clean, safe, and rent-ready


  • Verify that appliances are properly installed and in working order


  • Place "For Rent" signs and assist with property marketing efforts


  • Take clear, high-quality photos for listings and documentation


  • Perform light touch-up cleaning when needed to keep properties show-ready


  • Monitor vacant homes regularly to help prevent theft, vandalism, or damage


  • Plan and manage daily routes efficiently to maximize productivity across multiple properties


  • Upload photos, submit field reports, and communicate timely updates to the remote team


  • Coordinate with office staff and vendors on make-readies and tenant turnovers


  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision while staying accountable to team goals


  • Participate in ongoing training to build foundational skills in property management and administration
