The Physician Assistant’s job purpose is to provide healthcare services under the supervision of a Physician; specializing in pain management. The Physician Assistant reviews medical history and diagnoses, provides treatment, and counsels patients for pain management. In addition, the Physician Assistant will perform procedures and prescribe medications. The Physician Assistant will educate the patient to promote the best outcomes. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization. The Physician Assistant reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year

1) Contributes to improving a patient’s health and reports directly to the attending Physician for patient review and to obtain any required authorized signature for the patient’s chart.
2) Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
3) Formulates diagnosis and interprets test results.
4) Provides information pertinent to deliberations for short-term and long-term patient issues.
5) Recommends options and courses of action and implements physician directives.
6) Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory studies, etc.
7) Review and certifies claim forms as may be required by applicable law or third-party payers.
8) Prescribes medication and/or procedures as is medically or surgically appropriate, in accordance with state and federal laws.
9) Performs procedures as medically appropriate.
10) Facilitates follow-up care as appropriate.
11) Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management and discharge plans.
12) Documents appropriate patient care services (including patient history, symptoms, complaints, etc.) by charting in the Electronic Medical Records system in a timely manner; no later than by the end of each shift.
13) Communicates written or verbal orders with the support team (such as Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, Technician, etc.).
14) Maintains a safe and clean working environment; physical assault patients are reviewed by the attending Physician.
15) Adheres to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, OSHA and HIPAA standards.
16) Maintains professional, technical, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) knowledge by attending educational conferences, workshops, and/or programs and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
17) Provides call coverage as assigned.
18) Works collaboratively with providers’ team members in the development of strategic planning and goals.
19) Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
20) Performs other duties as assigned by the Company.
