Job Overview

New Century Insurance Services Inc is a highly reputable retail insurance agency focused on niche markets of minority owned businesses and beyond. We are a well-established agency in the San Gabriel Valley with 30+ years of operation and over 60 employees spread over 3 offices in the Southern California region.

We are currently seeking to fulfill several internship positions with potential to hire. Internship is an accelerated program with month 1 primarily training & clerical/administrative duties and month 2 & 3 with hands on experience in either our commercial or personal lines divisions.

Seeking recent graduates interested in career within insurance and ability to work full time in office. This is a full-time, in-office summer internship opportunity (June–September) with the potential for permanent placement at the conclusion of the program. To be eligible, candidates must have recently graduated or be on track to graduate by the start of the internship.

Salary Range: $20.00 per hour

Requirements
  • Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive and resourceful and be coachable.
  • Confident, self-starter who works well independently.
  • Responds to all inquiries, cancellation requests, and sales requests within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities is a plus
  • Property & Casualty Insurance license not required during the period of the internship
  • Must have recently graduated or be on track to graduate by June 2025, with availability for full-time employment at the conclusion of the internship should it be offered. Candidates returning to school in the fall will not be eligible.
Responsibilities

Dual function role between end customer/client and insurance carrier in both marketing and client management

  • Assist in processing policy change requests and generating insurance quotes.
  • Support client service activities, including handling evidence of insurance requests and claims follow-ups.
  • Participate in training sessions to gain knowledge of insurance products and agency operations.
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects and administrative tasks
