Mark Porter Auto Group, located in Southeastern Ohio, has an immediate opening for a human resources (HR) manager. We are a successful, growing, family-owned auto dealership group that has won numerous local and national awards for its performance and community involvement. We are eager to find a human resources manager who connects easily with people and has a detail-oriented mindset for handling the dynamic nature of todays workforce.
You will be a key member of the companys leadership team, and you will be responsible for the following functional areas: employee relations, training, safety, workplace investigations, communicating employee benefits, leave administration, workers compensation claims administration and management, unemployment claims management, and processing and exit interview of terminated employees; maintenance of employee files and records; recruitment, new hire processing and orientation, performance management and compensation administration (in cooperation with the hiring managers); liaising between company employees, managers and leadership on human resources issues; coordinate company-wide programs and events (including Benefits Open Enrollment); recommend program and process improvements to company leadership and the CFO.
You will also partner with external vendors for payroll, healthcare insurance, 401K, annual reporting, outside counsel etc. to ensure consistent application of HR policies, as well as state and federal laws and practices at all company locations.

Three or more years of experience in human resources or employee recruitment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset
Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution
Strong understanding of federal, state and laws related to HR
Familiarity with HR software and Microsoft Office
Support departments in developing their teams by actively recruiting for open positions
Champion the onboarding process by ensuring that it's high-quality and up to date
Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs
Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human-resources policies and procedures
Handle confidential matters with discretion
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local HR regulations and compliance guidelines
Conduct HR activities such as resolving employee grievances, training managers in how to coach and discipline, and counseling employees and supervisors
Handle annual insurance benefit renewal processes and bids
