We are seeking a Steel Estimator to lead full-service estimating for our diverse range of projects. This role involves preparing and managing estimates for various steel fabrication and erection contracts, utilizing historical data, and maintaining accurate cost databases. The base salary ranges from $45,000 to $60,000, depending on experience.

• Experience or knowledge of civil engineering or a related field (technical training and experience). Must have the ability to read construction blue prints and understand the construction process and sequencing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating, cost control, or drawings in the commercial structural steel industry.
• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, and cost control systems.
• Ability to estimate a variety of projects/contracts under strict deadlines.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Proficiency in business writing and computer applications such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and TEKLA or other Structural Steel management software
• Ability to work in a non-smoking office environment with a controlled temperature.
• Willingness to work beyond normal hours during company meetings or project deadlines.
• Will consider remote working

• Prepare work estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Review and utilize historical data for unit and labor calculations.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements from proposals and specifications.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and review proposals to determine the scope of work and estimates.
• Track and manage awarded contracts, including change orders, additions, and credits.
• Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information and trends.
• Have basic knowledge of American Institute of Steel Contractors (AISC) standard
• Design and finalize Auto CAD drawings and plans.
• Conduct building surveys, assess requirements and risks, take measurements, and collect data.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
