The Farmers Insurance Protégé Internship Program is a 6-month, performance-based internship that equips future agency owners with the hands-on experience, mentorship, and licensing support needed to succeed. You’ll work side-by-side with a successful Farmers Agent and gain deep knowledge in sales, marketing, operations, and client service—setting you up to transition into agency ownership after completion.
This in-person internship is based in Redding, CA and offers real-world learning with income potential and business-building opportunities.

Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to own a business
- Motivated, goal-oriented, and confident communicator
- Strong customer service or sales background preferred
- No prior insurance experience required—training provided
Required Commitment
- In-person attendance in Redding, CA
- Obtain required insurance licenses within 3 months
Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Prospect and generate leads for insurance policies
- Learn to close sales and deliver tailored coverage solutions
- Assist in growing the agency’s book of business
Customer Service & Engagement
- Conduct policy reviews and recommend appropriate coverage
- Provide support and education to new and existing clients
- Maintain strong client relationships with follow-up and service
Marketing & Community Outreach
- Support marketing and lead generation campaigns
- Attend networking events and local outreach efforts
- Leverage digital and social media tools to build visibility
Training & Licensing
- Complete Farmers’ onboarding and business training
- Obtain Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses
- Work on a structured business plan for agency launch
