About the BIA Program

The Business Insurance Agent (BIA) program gives an eligible candidate the opportunity to grow their own business and work with other Farmers agents to support Business Insurance growth in their agencies. BIAs can build their own business within a supportive environment, delivering valuable product options to business owners. They also benefit from built-in relationships other Farmers agents have with existing customers.

As a Farmers Business Insurance Agent, you will enjoy:

• Expanded Prospect Reach & Referral Network – Access a broad customer base through existing Farmers agents to accelerate growth.

• Compensation – Commission splits with Farmers agents + uncapped income potential.

• Concierge Underwriting Support – Dedicated underwriting support to help quote and close business.

• Support – Ongoing training, compliance, and sales resources to stay competitive.

• Access to customizable and personalized Business Insurance flyers, ads, lead programs, and paid media opportunities are available in multiple languages

• Access to agent webpage and social media management functionality, including Business Insurance specific social media posts

• For businesses that are not eligible for placement with Farmers Business Insurance, options may still be available through Kraft Lake Insurance Agency, Inc.

• Concierge Underwriting Support – Dedicated underwriting support to help quote and close business.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year

Career Growth Opportunities

Hands on Training

• Licensing: Active Property & Casualty insurance license (required), with Life & Health licenses often preferred.
• Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in sales, business development; specifically commercial insurance is a huge plus.
• Skills: Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and goal-oriented mindset.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems and insurance quoting platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Prospecting & Networking: Generating new business by contacting local business owners through networking, referrals, and outreach.
• Sales & Underwriting: Identifying risk, preparing quotes, and closing sales for commercial products like Business Owners Policies (BOPs), Commercial Auto, and Workers' Comp.
• Relationship Management: Building long-term relationships with business clients and acting as a trusted advisor.
• Collaboration: Working with existing Farmers agents to provide insurance solutions to their clients.
