Customer Service & Sales Representative


Job Overview

The Farmers Insurance - Mike McBride agency is currently seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated individual, with effective time management, and a positive attitude to join our team. As a Customer Service & Sales Representative, you will provide exceptional customer service to our current clients and new prospects, as well as work to support agency growth through new business generation. We are an well known agency in Yamhill County and are looking for someone that is passionate about serving their community.

This is not a remote position and will be inside our agency. This is a part time position - working on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and the right person may convert to fulltime. Candidates must have customer service and sales experience in professional office or in a retail setting. Need to have the ability to work in a team environment, and an excellent professional telephone presence. Must be able to pass state insurance license exam in time and meet continuing education requirements (We will help you with this).

Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service and/or sales experience in a professional office setting or retail environment is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
  • Familiar with multiple computer platforms (Windows, Google, etc.) is required
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish is highly preferred
  • Previous insurance or banking industry experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Process customer policy change requests.
  • Handle all incoming calls from clients and potential customers.
  • Take and process premium payments from clients.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow all underwriting, rating and compliance requirements.
  • Prospecting and generating new business through leads & referral sources.
  • Maintain client relationships with follow up phone calls.
  • Call prospective customers by operating VOIP telephones, automatic dialing systems, and other internet technologies.
  • Schedule appointments for Agent to meet prospective customers.
