The Cohen Insurance Agency, located in beautiful Downtown Georgetown, Texas is a fast-growing, award-winning insurance agency in need of a part-time Customer Service and Sales Representative (CSSR). The CSSR is responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences, sales (you will need to be licensed, if not already), processing policy alerts and change requests, learning our products, and answering questions from existing clients or prospects. Insurance industry experience is not required (but is preferred).
The CSSR position is a hybrid role; Sales is an integral part of the job. When you're not servicing clients, you will be selling Farmers Insurance products. The good news is that when Farmers declines the risk, we can broker the business, giving us multiple opportunities to close the deal. Great earnings with future long-term career advancement available. Potential to enter our prestigious Protege Agent Sales Program (own your own agency in the future) for the right candidate.
Texas General Agent P&C Insurance license will be required within 90 days of hire. Willing to pay all training and licensing expenses for the right candidate upon passing the exam and getting appointed with Farmers within the required period. Background check required.
20-25 hours per week, flexible hours
Salary: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

IMPORTANT - You must have reliable transportation. Employees of Farmers Insurance exclusive agents must be able to successfully complete any applicable licensing requirements (if required) and any assigned training programs. Farmers Insurance agents are independent contractors who hire their own employees. Farmers Agents employees are not employees of Farmers Insurance or its exchanges.
Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional customer experience by quickly responding to all servicing inquiries and sales requests
- Service each customer contact as a cross and/or up-sell opportunity
- Verify phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses with each customer contact and update customer information in the CRM (salesforce.com)
- Process all policy alerts and change requests, follow up on outstanding required documents, complete evidence of insurance and ID requests, and handle all claims-related inquiries from customers
- Set up Farmers Financial Annual Reviews for the agent and producers
Requirements
- Active Texas P & C license required (or obtained within the first 90 days); must pass a background check
- Active Texas Life Insurance license preferred (not required, but great commissions)
- Minimum 1-2 years of successful customer service or sales experience (insurance or financial service industry preferred)
- Minimum education: High School Graduate
- Be a confident self-starter with a sense of urgency who can work independently as well as with other salespeople - you might be in the agency by yourself on occasion
- Exceptional business writing, grammar, and spelling skills; you can effectively multi-task and quickly pivot to more pressing needs within the agency
- Possess a genuine willingness to learn the business, be intuitive, resourceful, and most importantly, coachable - no ego's here
