What does Insurance Protégé mean?

The Farmers Insurance Protégé Program is a mentorship-based training initiative designed to help aspiring individuals become Farmers Insurance agency owners by providing hands-on experience, comprehensive training, and mentorship.

The ultimate goal is a transition to agency ownership upon successful completion of the 9- to 12-month program.

Participants will learn all the ins and outs of insurance:

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Customer service skills
  • Management skills

All while gaining real-world experience to then build their own book of insurance clients one day.

No buy-ins. No start-up fees.

*This position is W2 with a base pay and commission.

Pay:

Base Range + Commission

$18-$20/hour + Commission Opportunity

Average Obtainable Commission - $3K-$8K

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be willing to obtain a Texas insurance license (Property & Casualty, Life & Health).
  • Farmers provides study materials, training resources, and support to ensure you are prepared to obtain your license.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly and annual targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and prospecting activities.
  • Follow up with leads and prospective clients to close sales and meet established goals.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Understand the client's needs to recommend appropriate insurance products.
  • Provide clients with information on policies, premiums, and coverage options to help them make informed decisions.
  • Manage customer service needs, answer questions, and resolve any issues or concerns.

Operations, Compliance, & Market Awareness

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, products, and market conditions to best serve clients.
  • Maintain and update accurate client records in the system.
