Job Overview
The Business Insurance Agent (BIA) gives an entrepreneurial individual the opportunity to grow their own business and also work with other Farmers agents to support Business Insurance growth in their agencies. BIAs can build their business within a supportive environment, delivering valuable product options to business owners. They also benefit from built-in relationships other Farmers agents have with existing customers. Whether a BIA wants to focus on specific industries or all industries for which coverage is available through Farmers, their experience, sales acumen, skill in building strong customer relationships, and an entrepreneurial mindset will position this role to add value to their own business and also support other agency owners to deliver exceptional value to customers.
This position offers a base draw, complemented by a performance-based commission and bonus structure. High-performing individuals have the opportunity to significantly increase their total earnings, with on-target annual compensation reaching $80,000 or more. Commissions and bonuses are tied directly to individual performance metrics, providing strong earning potential for motivated and results-driven candidates.
Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Requirements
- 3 years of face to face sales experience, preferably within the Business Insurance industry
- Experience in a competitive sales type environment
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
- Understanding of Business Insurance products
- Ability to assess risks for various types of businesses
- Meet minimum sales targets aligned to the Independent Contractor agreement
- Highly organized with strong follow up skills
- Strong analytical capability
- Ability to quickly analyze & troubleshoot issues and provide recommended solution
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and general Windows OS Navigation
- Obtain Property & Casualty insurance licenses before hire date
- Travel across Colorado required
Responsibilities
- Build, manage and scale a profitable Business Insurance book of business.
- Supports District Manager toward achieving all established District Office annual goals and growth objectives for Business Insurance
- Leads Business Insurance sales by partnering with district agents in marketing and selling Business Insurance products
- Build & maintain a working relationship with the assigned underwriters to the district to reduce communication barriers
- Review all commercial submissions to ensure successful approval for new business
- Identify eligibility concerns or missing information on submissions as noted by underwriting
