Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including customer invoicing, purchasing, project AIA billing, and accounts payable. The ideal candidate will have experience with Sage 100 accounting software and a strong understanding of accounting principles. You will work directly under the supervision of our on-staff CPA.
Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Requirements
Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with Sage 100 (or similar ERP/accounting software) is highly desired.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and their real-world applications
- Knowledge of AIA billing processes is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue customer billing and invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage accounts receivable, help monitor collections, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Perform AIA billing for construction and project-based contracts.
- Professional communication, both verbal and via email, with customer and vendor accounting departments.
- Assist with purchasing and inventory management.
- Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and receipts to assure timely and accurate payment of vendor payables.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and files.
- Reconcile account statements and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and financial reporting.
- Oversee office supplies and equipment.
- Assist with the modernization and improvement of current accounting processes.
- Support the CPA and accounting team with other accounting-related tasks as needed.
